Why is my GoFundMe fundraiser inactive?
What to do if your fundraiser is inactive
If you have already withdrawn the funds from your inactive fundraiser, please go ahead and create a new fundraiser. If your fundraiser is inactive because your GoFundMe account itself is more than a year old, then it’s best to start afresh with a new fundraiser. This will ensure that you are updated to our newest pricing model and connected to our current payment processors.
We are unable to reset the total amount raised back to zero, so creating a new fundraiser is also a good idea if you are raising funds for a new cause.
If you have an inactive fundraiser and you are sure that you have not withdrawn the funds, please contact our team so that we can help you access it.
If you do not want to continue raising funds and you'd like a copy of your past fundraiser, please click here to submit your request.
Accessing information from an inactive fundraiser
At GoFundMe, we keep secure, detailed records of inactive fundraisers so you don’t have to worry about losing any information (such as donor names and amounts, and updates or photos), even when you delete an old fundraiser. That means that it is still best to keep old fundraisers inactive and simply contact our team here if you need this information in the future.
How do I reactivate my fundraiser?
Once a fundraiser has been deleted, it can only be reactivated by our customer support team. Bear in mind that a fundraiser will only be reactivated for the following reasons:
- The fundraiser still has funds that need to be withdrawn.
- The fundraiser is less than 6 months old.
- You need to post an update or thank donors.
If you meet the requirements above, you may follow this link to submit a request to have your fundraiser reactivated.
