Raising funds for someone in an unsupported country
You're welcome to raise funds for almost anyone. However, please remember that the person who transfers funds from GoFundMe must be in a supported country and meet all GoFundMe requirements. The fundraiser organiser will be personally responsible for receiving the funds, then delivering the funds outside of GoFundMe. The organiser will also need to outline a transparent plan for the transfer of funds on the fundraiser story so supporters understand how the funds are being handled.
Click here for a list of the countries we currently support. These are the countries where people can receive funds directly from GoFundMe.
As a U.S. company, GoFundMe is subject to all U.S. laws and regulations, including those set forth by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury. In some cases, US sanctions, or sanctions from other relevant government bodies will prohibit us from supporting a fundraiser for some causes.
If US sanctions affect your fundraiser, you can apply for a licence from OFAC here. Once that's done, our team will assist with the review of your account.
