In the wake of a disaster, thousands of campaigns are created on GoFundMe to help those affected.
In times of disaster, our Trust & Safety team works around the clock to ensure that donors understand how their donations are being used and to help all campaign organisers get access to the funds they have raised as soon as possible.
When withdrawals are on hold, it is because our team sent the campaign organiser an email titled 'Important Message from GoFundMe - Response Required' or ‘Urgent Message from GoFundMe - Action Required’ addressing the hold.
If you have already addressed the email you received and replied - thank you. Our Trust & Safety team is working diligently to respond to you as soon as possible.
If you do not hear back from our Trust & Safety Team within 24 hours of your reply, please write to our support team using this link. Contact Us
If you have not yet addressed the email you received - we ask that you double check your campaign to make sure it includes the following information:
- Who you are and where you are from
- Your relationship or contact to the parties you are raising funds for
- How the funds will be spent (be as specific as possible)
- Your withdrawal plan to get the funds from the campaign to the ultimate beneficiary(ies)
After making the above changes to your campaign, please reply directly to our initial message and our Trust & Safety team will be able to finalise their review.
If you are the beneficiary of the campaign, please have your campaign organiser respond to our original message as soon as possible so we can review your campaign.
If your funds are still not available to withdraw within 24 hours, please write to our support team using the following link. Contact Us
Thank you for your patience as our team works to ensure that all campaigns related to disaster relief efforts are reviewed.
