The most important thing you can do is share your campaign with friends, family and any other networks to which you belong. Most of your donations will come directly from people who know you or have a personal connection to your campaign. Even if your personal contacts cannot donate, they can help by sharing your campaign link on your behalf!
Keep in mind that donors do not really browse GoFundMe. They will visit your campaign when it is shared through email, Facebook, Twitter, the local media and any other online community you can share it with. This is why it is so important to focus on sharing your campaign, and sharing it often. Posting frequent updates will also help drive traffic to your page and get people excited about your cause.
If you are hesitant to share with people you know, you can always try sharing with a few close friends at first. People typically do not donate to a GoFundMe campaign if they do not know the Campaign Organiser, unless the campaign has already been somewhat successful. Your initial donations are what establishes your campaign's credibility.
