Adding photos to your fundraiser

Compelling images related to your cause can promote engagement from potential supporters, which can lead to increased donations. You can add multiple photos and videos to be the main media on your page. The more images you add helps GoFundMe generate sharing posters and videos for you.

When considering which images to choose, ask yourself a few questions:

• How does this image help tell my story?
• What feelings does this image evoke?
• What kind of image would inspire me to donate?

How to upload your cover photo

You'll choose your main image during your initial fundraiser setup, but you can edit that and add more photos at any time by following these steps after signing into your account:

1. Log into your GoFundMe account and select "Your fundraisers" from the menu in the top right corner
2. Choose the fundraiser you'd like to edit
   • US Fundraisers - From your "Today" page, select "Fundraiser" from the left menu > Select “Edit fundraiser”
   • All other countries - Select “Edit" below your fundraiser title
3. Select the “Edit” button beside "Media"
4. You can "Crop" your image or "Replace" it as well

Keep these tips in mind for your cover image:

• Use JPEG, PNG or BMP file types
• The file size should be less than 20 MB. The recommended main photo size is 720 x 405 pixels or higher
• We suggest using a horizontal image (landscape orientation)
• If you’re using someone else’s image, consider whether you have the rights to use it

How to add additional photos for auto-generated sharing options

We suggest adding a few more photos with your cover photo, as these will be used to generate engaging sharing options that you can easily share via text, email, and social media.

1. Log into your GoFundMe account and select "Your fundraisers" from the menu in the top right corner
2. Choose the fundraiser you'd like to edit
   • US Fundraisers - From your "Today" page, select "Fundraiser" from the left menu > Select “Edit fundraiser”
   • All other countries - Select “Edit" below your fundraiser title
3. Select the “Edit” button beside "Media"
4. Select "Add more photos" and choose photos from your device
   • If you want to make one of these additional photo the cover photo, select the menu in the bottom right corner of the photo, and select "Make cover photo"

How to add photos to your story (desktop browser)

To add more photos to your story, follow these steps:

1. Log into your GoFundMe account and select "Your fundraisers" from the menu in the top right corner
2. Choose the fundraiser you'd like to edit
   • US Fundraisers - From your "Today" page, select "Fundraiser" from the left menu > Select “Edit fundraiser”
   • All other countries - Select “Edit" below your fundraiser title
3. Scroll to the story section, and select "Edit”
4. Choose the "Add more photos" button
5. Select your images, click "Save", and then select "Save" again

How to add photos to your story (mobile browser)

1. Log into your GoFundMe account
   • US Fundraisers - Select the "Fundraiser" tab in the bottom menu > Choose "Edit fundraiser"
   • All other countries - Select the "Edit" tab in the bottom menu
2. Scroll to the story section, and select "Edit"
3. Choose the "Add more photos" button, and then choose photos to upload from your device

*On both desktop and mobile, all additional photos will have a three dot menu. From that menu you can delete the additional photo or choose to make it your main image.
