Reporting Fraud - What to do when you think a fundraiser is fraudulent

GoFundMe is dedicated to empowering people to help others, while making sure our platform is safe and legitimate. In the unlikely event that someone creates a fundraiser with the intention to mislead donors, our team takes swift action.

Among other things, we rely on community reports for information and  your help in keeping our platform safe is greatly appreciated. When a fundraiser is reported, unless compelled by law or a concern for the safety of our users or others, the name of the person reporting the fraud is not shared by us with the organiser or beneficiary.

What will be reviewed on GoFundMe

Only fundraisers that violate our terms of service or have a proven misuse of funds will be removed. Personal disputes such as custody or disagreements that do not violate our terms of service will not prompt any action taken .
