Donations made to GoFundMe campaigns are usually considered to be "personal gifts" which, for the most part, are not taxed as income.
However, there may be particular specific instances when the income is not tax-deductible (depending on amounts received, use of the funds etc), so we recommend that you keep a record of all donations received and consult a professional accountant to clarify whether this is the case. GoFundMe will not report your donation as income at the end of the tax year or issue any tax documents.
