GoFundMe is updating our Privacy Notice. We encourage you to read these updates in their entirety, but below are a few changes worth noting.
- Because the GoFundMe community is expanding into the European market, we have certified with the EU, US and Swiss Privacy Shield to ensure our European Union user’s personal information is being shared and stored safely across the Atlantic. It also details how an EU user can share their questions or concerns about our privacy practices, and how to proceed if they are dissatisfied with the response.
- We have included a reminder that comments made publicly on GoFundMe campaigns can be seen and shared by anyone visiting the site, and it is important to be considerate and respectful while sharing opinions with GoFundMe users.
- We have added a section on tailored advertising that explains we may use third-party advertising technologies to provide ads and content most relevant to you. These ads can appear on our site or on other sites. We show you how to learn more about this technology and how to opt out of it.
We have received a lot of help from our community as we have crafted these updates and we are grateful for that. We will continue to look to our community for guidance as our company grows.
