GoFundMe sends emails to campaigns organisers, beneficiaries, donors and other users who have interacted with our platform in some way.
Examples of such emails include: donation alert emails, invitations to accept money and thank you notes.
Some emails are necessary for sharing important information with you; as such, you won’t be able to unsubscribe from them.
For campaign organisers, an example of this would be reminders to complete crucial steps with your GoFundMe account to prevent your campaign from being negatively impacted.
For donors, an example of this would be your donation receipt or a confirmation that your donation was refunded.
You might also receive an email from GoFundMe if you reach out to the campaign organiser through our messaging system and they reply to you.
Some emails are helpful, but not essential to your GoFundMe experience. You can opt out of these emails through the Unsubscribe settings.
NOTE: For customers located in the EU, non-essential emails will only be sent to you if you have opted in to receiving them.
For campaign organisers, an example of this would be suggestions of how to raise more donations on your campaign.
For donors, an example of this would be a suggestion to help a campaign organiser you recently donated to by sharing their GoFundMe with your friends or family.
