We also suggest contacting professional services in your area and we have included a list of available resources below.  If you see a mention of self-harm or suicidal thoughts on our platform, you can contact our team here, but our team will not be able to contact professional services on the person’s behalf. For this reason, it is very important that you contact emergency services immediately. 

GoFundMe is dedicated to the safety of our users on and off our platform. When GoFundMe locates a fundraiser suggesting self-harm or suicide, our Trust & Safety team contacts the customer to provide them with professional resources and encourage them to seek help.

If you’re in the US

To talk to someone, get in touch with a counsellor on the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline on 1-800-273-TALK (8255). 

If you prefer a text message rather than a phone call, text HOME to 741741 to reach a counsellor from Crisis Text Line. They're available to talk over the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can also visit their website by following this link

Finally, if you would rather speak with someone by instant message, you can do so on the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
