Trouble connecting your bank account using your bank portal

In most cases, GoFundMe organisers can set up bank transfers by directly logging into their online bank portal. However, if you have trouble logging in or locating your bank from the list of options, you can simply manually enter your bank details instead.

If your fundraiser is linked to our payment partner Adyen, follow these steps to manually enter your bank account information:

  1. Select the fundraiser which you want to update the bank details for
    • US fundraisers - Click "Fundraiser" > “Transfers”
    • All other countries - Click “Transfers”
  2. Choose who will be receiving the funds. If it's "Your bank account", make sure that your email is verified and then choose "Get started"
  3. Select "Continue to Adyen" which will bring you to our payment processor’s secure information portal
  4. Choose your entity type – individual, sole proprietorship, company, or partnership or association
  5. Select “Add” in "Bank account details"
  6. Check the option for “Upload a bank statement”, and then “Next”
    • If you choose to enter your bank details manually, you must upload a bank document at the same time.
  7. Enter your bank account information and click "Next"
  8. Select your document type and select your file from your device
  9. Select "Next"
  10. Review the information you entered and click "Submit"

If your fundraiser is linked to our payment partner Stripe, follow these steps to manually enter your bank account information:

  1. Select the fundraiser which you want to update the bank details for
    • US fundraisers - Click "Fundraiser" > “Transfers”
    • All other countries - Click “Transfers”
  2. Choose who will be receiving the funds. If it's "Your bank account", make sure that your email is verified and then choose "Get started"
  3. Select "Continue to Stripe", which will bring you to our payment processor’s secure information portal
  4. Enter your personal details, and once complete, you'll be prompted to enter your bank information
  5. Instead of selecting a bank to log into, choose the option to "Add your bank details manually instead"

Important reminders

Since you’re entering your information manually, make sure that you double-check that you’ve entered the account numbers exactly as they’re shown on a cheque or in your banking portal. Also make sure that you use the ACH or electronic routing number and not the wire routing number.

If you're using a Chase, PNC, or US Bank bank account, you'll see a virtual account number while connecting your bank; this won't match your actual account number. When you select "Back to GoFundMe" you'll see your transfers overview, which will show your own account number.
