Why do I need to provide my passport to continue withdrawals?

If your campaign raises at least 5000 (in your country’s currency) and you haven’t already uploaded your passport or personal document for verification, our payment processors will need to verify your identity to deliver funds raised past the 5000 amount.

 

All you need to do is sign in to your GoFundMe account, click ‘Withdraw’ and upload your documentation there. It will take approximately 24 hours for them to verify your information. Once you are verified, withdrawals will continue. If they are not able to verify your information, you’ll be notified via email and you can re-upload your information from there. If you have any questions during that process, feel free to Contact Us below.

 

While a passport is preferred, should you not have one, you can try uploading your driver’s license that includes all the same information as your passport as well. If you do not have either of these items, you will not be able to receive funds past the 5000 amount (in your country’s currency). After six weeks, all funds raised past 5000 will be refunded to your donors, and you may keep what was raised prior to that.
