In today's mobile age, it is important to share your fundraiser where you already spend most of your time ... on your phone!
First, download the app
If you already have it, you can sign in to the app and click "Share". You'll see six easy ways to share your GoFundMe: Text Message, Email, Facebook post, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram.
Text your fundraiser link to your 5 closest friends
Ask them to share for you! To share your fundraiser via text from the app, click on the three green lines, then "View Fundraiser" and copy your link. Next, open a text message, hold your finger down in the text box and click "paste" to share your fundraiser link.
If you don’t use the GoFundMe app, a creative way to share is to take a screenshot of your GoFundMe, then upload it as an Instagram post (make sure to paste your link into the bio of your Instagram profile). If you’re not ready to share with all of your followers, use direct messages to reach a more select audience.
Pro tip: Here are the steps to add a shortened link to an Instagram post:
Click on the "Menu" icon at the top left of your screen
Click on "Share" and then "Instagram"
Your Instagram app will open and you will be able to make edits to your post
Be sure to click "Next" and then "Share" to post
Share to your Facebook timeline easily
Click on the three green lines and then "Share My Fundraiser.” Or, paste your GoFundMelink as a new Facebook timeline post. Want to take it a step further? Tag a few friends by typing @NAME when posting to Facebook. Done well, Facebook fundraising is one of your best ways to share!
Facebook Messenger is a great tool for sharing
Copy and paste your GoFundMe link into a Facebook message and select the friend you want to send it to. That way, you can share it with a more selective audience. Want to send it to more than one person? Add more than one friend to make it a group message.
Got Snapchat?
Our favorite way to share on Snapchat is to take a screenshot of the fundraiser. Then you can upload it from your camera roll and add words and emojis before sharing it to your ‘Story’ or snapping it directly to your friend. Be sure to link to your GoFundMe as well! Check out this guide that explains how to send links via Snapchat.
Use WhatsApp
Send your GoFundMe link and a screenshot directly to your friends.
Tweeting is easy
Click on "Share" then scroll down to the "Share Your Fundraiser" section. Click on "Twitter" then "Post to Twitter". You’ll get even better responses to your Twitter fundraising effort if you add a creative line about your GoFundMe.
Write an article for your LinkedIn
Sign in from your phone, click "Share" and then paste your GoFundMe link with a description of your cause. You can ask your LinkedIn network to donate or share your GoFundMe link!
