If a friend, family member, or loved one has been affected by a natural disaster, feel empowered to take action and help.
You can create a campaign for supplies, emergency living arrangements, medical help, repairs, or miscellaneous costs. Check out the links below for inspirational campaigns that have already been created for hurricane victims.
Once the campaign is up and running, you can add your friend or family member as the beneficiary so that they can withdraw the funds directly. Find out how to do this here.
Pro Tip: Raising funds for friends or family in an unsupported territory or country? As long you're a citizen of a supported country, withdraw the funds to your personal bank account and send the funds to your beneficiary outside of GoFundMe.
If your beneficiary is out of power or does not have immediate access to a computer or phone to process a withdrawal, you can withdraw on their behalf. Before doing so, please be sure to include these important details on your campaign:
- How you are related to your beneficiary
- That you will be withdrawing the funds in your name and to your own bank account
- How exactly you will be delivering the funds to your beneficiary
Don’t have the time or resources to create a campaign? Visit either the Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma, Hurricane Maria, or Mexico Earthquake Relief landing pages and donate directly to the campaigns you see listed there. Thank you.
