Did you change something on your fundraiser and it's not showing up right when sharing on social media? Sometimes, it can take a little while for social media sites to show those changes on their own. But, here are some steps to speed up the process on your end:
You can refresh Facebook by following these steps:
- Copy your GoFundMe fundraiser link
- Use Facebook's Debugger tool here: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
- Enter your link at the top of the page, and click "Fetch new scrape information." You may need to click it twice!
- Scroll down and you will see the information Facebook is pulling from your GoFundMe fundraiser. You should now see the updated information.
Keep in mind, you will need to be signed into your Facebook account to complete these steps.
You can refresh Twitter by following these steps:
- Copy your GoFundMe fundraiser link
- Visit Twitter's Card Validator here: https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator
- Enter your link in the "Card URL" field, then click "Preview card"
- Twitter will show a preview of how the fundraiser will look when your link is posted
You can refresh LinkedIn by following these steps:
- Copy your GoFundMe fundraiser link
- Visit LinkedIn's Post Inspector here: https://www.linkedin.com/post-inspector/inspect/
- Enter your link, then click "Inspect"
- LinkedIn will show a preview of how the fundraiser will appear when your link is posted
While this will affect everything you post in the future, it will not change things that have already been posted. You will want to delete any old posts if you are not comfortable with how the link looks.
