So you noticed a little box on your GoFundMe fundraiser that says "This fundraiser is trending!”
A "trending" GoFundMe fundraiser means that you’ve gotten a lot of support in a short amount of time, and it’s our goal to help GoFundMe organizers understand how to reach this milestone. In general, this little box will show up on your GoFundMe when you hit these marks:
- Your fundraiser was started less than 6 weeks ago
- There are more than 25 shares
- You’ve received at least 4 donations
The beginning of a GoFundMe fundraiser is usually the busiest time. This is when you’ll receive the most support and you’ll notice a lot of activity on your fundraiser. You’ll want to raise awareness to ensure your potential donors know about your GoFundMe.
Don't worry if your fundraiser isn't trending or if it stops trending, it's all part of how viral fundraising works. Be sure to keep people engaged in your fundraiser by asking them to not only donate but to share your fundraiser and get your story out there. It’s important to keep in mind that actively promoting your fundraiser online is what makes crowdfunding possible.
