If you’re receiving a message when trying to create a campaign that says “We cannot create your account. Contact our support team for help.", here are some steps you can try to move forward and create your campaign:
1. For existing GoFundMe accounts, it’s possible that your GoFundMe account and your account with our payment partner become disconnected.
To fix this issue, please go to your Account Settings (three bars at the top of your screen or the Me icon on the mobile app) and scroll to the bottom. There, you will see an option to "Delete Account". You can then create a new account at www.gofundme.com/sign-up. You’ll be able to move forward as normal.
2. For new GoFundMe accounts, there are a couple of things for you two check; your postal code and your name.
First, check that your postal code is correctly formatted for the location of your campaign and for the currency in which you are raising funds. Once the correctly formatted postal code is entered, you’ll be able to continue with your campaign. If you are in the U.S. be sure that you are entering a standard 5-digit postal code. Our system populates postal codes for you, but if you don’t see the postal code for your area, please contact our team.
Additionally, you will want to make sure that your account name is your actual first and last name. Be sure that there are no numbers or symbols added. You can edit your account name by signing into your account and going to your settings: www.gofundme.com/settings
3. GoFundMe is not yet available in all areas around the world. If you are not a member of one of our supported countries, you will not be able to create a campaign. Here is a list of our supported countries.
