Trouble enrolling in PayPal Giving Fund

PayPal Giving Fund enrollment is a multi-step process, and this article will assist with any roadblocks you may run into. First, confirm that you are aware of how charity fundraiser transfers work, in this article. 

If you have begun charity confirmation, but have not heard back within five business days, please follow these steps to get to your PayPal Resolution Center to identify what outstanding documents or information you may need to provide to PayPal:

  1. Sign into your PayPal account
  2. Click 'Help' in the top right corner of your screen
  3. Once the Help menu populates on the right side of the screen, click the 'Resolution Center' icon at the bottom right.

You will be provided with the steps to upload requested documents, or take any needed actions, in the resolution center. If there are no pending cases, continue reading below. 

Other common issues

Bank account can’t be added 

Only one bank account can be used across any PayPal account. If PayPal is not allowing you to add your charity bank account, confirm that bank account is not connected to a different PayPal account. 

Change in charitable status

Organizations who have had a change in their charitable or tax-exempt status often cannot enroll in PayPal Giving Fund. If you believe you fall into one of these categories, please contact our team to determine the next steps.

You are not opted into third-party giving with Guidestar

Organization’s cannot enroll if they are not opted into third-party giving with Guidestar. To confirm if you are opted-in, please visit Guidestar, here.
