Concerns for someone's safety
Er is niets mis mee om voor je geestelijke gezondheid te zorgen en om hulp te vragen. Een geestelijke gezondheidscrisis betekent vaak dat je niet langer het gevoel hebt dat je de situatie aankunt, en dat is niet erg. Als je het gevoel hebt dat je een direct risico loopt om jezelf of iemand anders iets aan te doen, dan zijn er mensen die bereid zijn om je te steunen. Het kan zijn dat je eerst een paar opties moet proberen voordat je de juiste hulp vindt, maar geef niet op: er is hulp beschikbaar.

Recognizing Warning Signs
- Engaging in self-harm behavior (including increasing their use of drugs or alcohol)
- Changes in sleep and eating pattern
- Becoming more inward and withdrawing from family and friends
- Expressing hopeless feelings like "nothing will change" or "I'm a burden"
- Talking or writing about hurting themselves or stating that they want to die
