Requirements to receive funds

The person receiving the funds must be over 18 years of age, have a valid government-issued photo ID, have a bank account in a supported country and the currency the fundraiser was set up in, and meet all of the requirements listed below for their country. If you don't meet the requirements for any of our supported countries, please do not create a fundraiser. You must ask someone who does meet the requirements to create one for you or add them as a beneficiary. If you create a fundraiser and cannot receive the funds, all donations will be refunded.

Fundraiser requirements by country

US (including Puerto Rico)

  • A US Social Security number or ITIN
  • A US driving licence, US State ID  or a passport from any country (cannot be expired)
  • A residential address in one of the 50 states (not a PO box)
    • If you're raising funds in Puerto Rico, you may use a residential address in Puerto Rico.
  • A US phone number
  • A US bank account in your name (Important: Online payment systems like PayPal, Venmo and CashApp often don't meet document requirements to transfer funds. If you're using an online option, make sure it's a genuine bank, like Ally Bank.)
  • Must be 18 years of age or over

Canada 

  • A Canadian bank account in your name
  • A physical mailing address in Canada (not a PO box)
  • A Canadian government-issued photo ID or a passport from any country (cannot be expired)
  • A Canadian phone number
  • A Canadian Tax ID
  • Must be 18 years of age or over

UK 

  • A UK bank account
  • A National Insurance number
  • A passport from any country or a UK driving licence (cannot be expired)
  • A UK phone number
  • A UK address
  • Must be 18 years of age or over

Australia 

  • A bank account in Australia
  • A driving licence number or passport number  in Australia (cannot be expired)
  • A physical location in Australia (at which you can receive mail)
  • A passport from any country or an Australian driving licence
  • A phone number in Australia
  • Must be 18 years of age or over

Mexico

  • A bank account in Mexico
  • An ID issued by the Mexican government (cannot be expired)
  • A mailing address in Mexico
  • An RFC government ID number
  • A phone number where you can receive calls and messages
  • Must be 18 years of age or over

Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Austria, Luxembourg or Finland 

  • A bank account in  from any supported EU country
  • A phone number from any supported EU country
  • A passport from any country or National ID card of the supported EU country you signed up with (cannot be expired)
  • An address in the supported EU country you signed up with
  • Must be 18 years of age or over
  • Codice fiscale (for Italy)

Denmark, Norway, Sweden or Switzerland 

  • A bank account in your country 
  • A phone number from your country
  • A passport from any country or National ID card of the supported EU country you signed up with (cannot be expired)
  • An address in your country
  • Must be 18 years of age or over
  • Tax ID (for Belgium and Austria)
