Raising funds for someone in an unsupported country

You are welcome to raise funds for almost anyone; however, if that person is in a country where we don’t operate yet, you will be personally responsible for receiving the funds yourself, then delivering the funds outside of GoFundMe. You will also need to outline a transparent plan for the transfer of funds on your fundraiser story so that supporters understand how the funds are being handled.

Click here for a list of the countries that we currently support. These are the countries where people can receive funds directly from GoFundMe.

As a U.S. company, GoFundMe is subject to all U.S. laws and regulations, including those set forth by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury. In some cases, US sanctions, or sanctions from other relevant government bodies will prohibit us from supporting a fundraiser for some causes.

If US sanctions impact your fundraiser, you can apply for a license from OFAC here. Once that is done, our team will assist with the review of your account.
