Receiving donations outside of GoFundMe

If someone gives you a donation outside of GoFundMe – whether through cash, check, Venmo, etc., or you'd like to reflect your own contribution, you can add it as an offline donation so it counts towards your goal. Since offline donations are not actual payments made with a credit or debit card, you will not be charged a transaction fee, and they won't be reflected in fundraiser transfers.

Only a GoFundMe organizer can record offline donations. If you're the beneficiary, a co-organizer, or a donor, please contact the organizer to add an offline donation to the fundraiser.

To add an offline donation from a desktop or mobile browser:

  1. Log into your GoFundMe account and choose "Your fundraisers" from the top right menu
  2. Select the correct fundraiser and go to the "Donations" tab
  3. If you don't yet have your first donation, you'll click the "+" in the top right corner. If you've already had donations, choose "Add an offline donation" above your list of donors
  4. Enter the donation information and choose "Add" to save the information and add it to your fundraiser

To add an offline donation from the GoFundMe app:

  1. Open the GoFundMe app and you should be brought directly to your fundraiser dashboard
  2. Select "Donations" from the bottom menu
  3. If you don't yet have your first donation, click the "+" in the top right corner. If you've already received donations, select "Add an offline donation" just above your list of donations
  4. Enter the donation information and click "Add"
