Your name on GoFundMe

You will enter your name in two places on GoFundMe:

  1. When you set up your GoFundMe account: This name will show publicly and can be a nickname or shortened name.
  2. When you set up your bank transfers: This name will remain private. It must be your legal name, and match your ID and bank statement.

If you add a beneficiary to your fundraiser, their account name will also appear on the fundraiser page. This can also be a nickname, if the beneficiary would prefer.
