Transferring funds to a mobile bank or prepaid debit card
Mobile banking
Any account used for bank transfers from GoFundMe must have both a routing and account number. You must also be able to provide documentation and verification including:
- Government issued ID with a name that matches the account holder
-
A bank statement that shows:
- Full legal name
- Bank logo
- Account or IBAN number
- Statement must be less than 30 days old
- Sort code (if in the UK/ ROI)
Certain online banks don’t provide documentation our payment processors need, so it’s very important to confirm you're using a bank that can provide these documents.
Even if you’ve already transferred funds to an account, if you’re prompted to upload further verification documents and cannot provide them, no additional funds can be sent to the account and a different account will need to be added.
Prepaid cards
Note: If you’re using a prepaid debit card or a mobile banking account, you may need to provide documentation from the issuing bank, or parent bank, rather than from your selected online card provider.
Our top priority is to make sure your funds reach you safely, so it’s important to know there are some risks involved with using a prepaid debit card.
If you enter the routing or account number incorrectly and your transfer is sent, it will not go to your card, and there’s a high risk we won't be able to recover those funds. If you do use a prepaid card, we strongly recommend you double and triple check the information you enter in order to avoid any issues.
