How to add your charity to the GoFundMe database

Please visit the applicable link below to see if your charity is already listed in our database, and search by the tax ID or charity name. The search results include charities that have already registered with PayPal Giving Fund.

If your organization is not on the list yet, a financial administrator for the organization can follow the steps below to be added. Your organization will need to currently have its tax exempt status in order to be added to the list:

United States (Excluding California)

  1. Create a PayPal account or make sure that your existing PayPal account is upgraded to a business account: https://www.paypal.com/bizsignup
  2. Confirm your charity's status: https://www.paypal.com/charities (After you submit, PayPal will review your documents and reply by email within five business days.) Once your charity status is confirmed, the charity will automatically be enrolled in PayPal Giving Fund, and you’ll receive a welcome email to PayPal Giving Fund.

United States (California)

  1. Create a PayPal account or make sure that your existing PayPal account is upgraded to a business account: https://www.paypal.com/bizsignup
  2. Confirm your charity's status: https://www.paypal.com/charities (After you submit, PayPal will review your documents and reply by email within five business days. You can move to step 3 after you receive PayPal's confirmation email.)
  3. Enroll in PayPal Giving Fund: https://www.paypal.com/givingfund/enroll

United Kingdom

  1. Create a PayPal account or make sure that your existing PayPal account is upgraded to a business account here.
  2. Once you've set up your PayPal Business account, you'll need to confirm that your PayPal account belongs to a charity. Becoming a confirmed charity with PayPal also allows you to qualify for PayPal's special discounted charity rate. You can confirm your charity's status by visiting this link: https://www.paypal.com/charities/getstarted (After you submit, PayPal will review your documents and reply by email within five business days.)

After you receive an email verifying that your charity status has been confirmed with PayPal, your charity will be reviewed for enrolment with PayPal Giving Fund. If you are eligible, you will receive an additional email within approximately 2 business days. This email will confirm your successful enrolment with PayPal Giving Fund UK.

Your charity will appear in our database a day or two after the enrollment is complete.

Australia

  1. Create a PayPal account or make sure that your existing PayPal account is upgraded to a business account: https://www.paypal.com/au/webapps/mpp/account-selection?pros=2

If your charity is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission and holds deductible gift recipient status (DGR), you’ll be automatically listed on our programs and donors can nominate you as their benefiting charity.

The exception to this is charities that are public or private ancillary funds (these are described as item 2 under its DGR endorsement). PayPal Giving Fund is a Public Ancillary Fund and is therefore not able to make grants to other public or private ancillary funds.

If your charity is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission and operates a fund, authority, or institution which has DGR status (provided it is not item 2), the fund, authority or institution can also be listed on our programs.
