Transferring money to your personal bank account
Please ensure you have all of the following documents:
- Official government-issued identification. This can be a driver's license from your country or a passport from any country. It must not be expired.
- Official bank statements including the following information:
- Your bank logo, or bank letterhead (must be issued by the bank).
- Your name as the account holder.
- The bank account number you will use to transfer the funds.
- Your sort code if in the UK or Ireland.
You should have verified your email when you started the fundraiser, but if you haven't verified it yet, you'll be prompted to do so here. Simply follow these instructions to have the donations sent to your personal bank account:
- Click "Transfers" on your dashboard
- Select “Your bank account” under “Whose account will the funds be transferred to?”
- Select “Get started” and then "Continue to Adyen"
- Enter your personal and bank details in Adyen's secure portal
For personal details, you'll be required to enter the following information:
- Full first and last name (Ensure that this name matches your identification document)
- Home address (No P.O. Box)
- Phone number
- Birthdate
- SSN or ITIN (US) or National Insurance Number (UK)
- ID or Passport Number (Must not be expired)
For bank details, you'll be required to enter the following information:
- Account number or IBAN (European accounts)
- Routing number (US) or Branch code (European accounts)
You can also choose to log directly into your bank portal to enter your bank details, instead of entering them manually.
Important bank transfer expectations
After you add your banking information and set up transfers, new donations that come into your account will go through a verification process, which can take 1-10 business days (weekends and holidays do not count as business days).
Once they become available, all verified donations held within the account will be sent automatically at the frequency you choose (daily, weekly, monthly) and will be delivered to your bank account in 2-5 business days.
Note: Please keep watch in your email inbox (and spam folder) for an email from our team titled, "Important Message from GoFundMe". If you receive that, please respond there as soon as possible. Our team will need to work with you to complete further verification, before funds can be sent.
