How can I contact a GoFundMe organizer?

As we implement new contact features, you may see different options for contacting a GoFundMe organizer–via email, direct message, or both. The options you see will be the only ones available to you. For example, if you only see the option to email an organizer, there won’t be a way to opt into direct messages.

You can contact a GoFundMe organizer from their GoFundMe in two ways:

• A direct message (DM)
• An email

How to DM with a GoFundMe organizer

Follow these steps to chat directly with a GoFundMe organizer: 

1. Visit the organizer’s GoFundMe
2. Scroll to the “Organizer” section and select the “Message” button
3. Type out your message and click the send button

How to email a GoFundMe organizer

1. Visit the organizer’s GoFundMe
2. Scroll to the “Organizer” section and select the “Contact form” button
3. Fill out the form with your email and your message
4. The organizer will receive your email shortly, but it’s up to their discretion how quickly they respond

Can I message someone directly from my inbox?

No. Currently, you can only contact someone using the Message button on a fundraiser page to reach the GoFundMe organizer. 

Can I message the beneficiary?

When you use the contact button on a fundraiser page, your message will only be sent to the GoFundMe organizer. 

Can I edit or delete the message I sent?

Once your message is sent you cannot edit or delete the message. To send additional messages to the organizer, you’ll need to wait until they respond to your initial message.

Can I turn off the ability for people to message me?

To ensure transparency for your supporters, this feature exists on all GoFundMe fundraisers to allow supporters a direct line of communication to the organizer for any questions they may have. 

How do I block someone from messaging me? 

1. Open up your messages with the person you’d like to block
2. Select the three dots next to their name
3. Click ‘Block’, and then confirm you’d like to block that person

To unblock someone from messaging you, you can follow the same steps but select ‘Unblock’ after clicking the three dots next to the person’s name you’d like to unblock.

How do I report a message?

1. Choose the message you’d like to report
2. Click on the “Report” message that pops up
3. Your message will be reported and actioned as needed
