Bank transfer deadlines

Once the first donation is made to your fundraiser, your bank transfer information must be fully verified before 90 days have passed, or your donations will be automatically refunded. This is because our payment partners are online payment processors only and are not allowed to hold  your funds for long periods of time. 

Even after starting bank transfers, you can continue to raise funds, and the “total amount raised” displayed on your fundraiser will not decrease.

Note: Fundraisers started in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, and Switzerland will process donations and transfers through our payment partner Stripe. These customers must activate their Stripe account within 21 days of their first donation, or any donations received will be refunded.

How long will it take to be fully verified?

The process of setting up and verifying transfers can take 3-7 business days or longer to complete.  This process must be completed within  90 days of your first donation.  Then, once your first transfer is sent, it will take on average  2-5 business days for the funds to safely be deposited into the bank account on file. How do I know when I’m fully verified?

First, make sure you’ve completed the transfer setup process:

After that, your GoFundMe account is the best place to find all information about your transfers. Under the “Bank transfer” section, you can see scheduled and sent transfers. If you find that the scheduled date is continuously pushed back, then your account is not fully verified. 

You may also see an email from our team or a banner within your GoFundMe account notifying you about this.
