Properly setting up your withdrawals can take some time. It's important to plan ahead and get this process started as soon as possible to avoid any issues. Because our payment partners are online payment processors only, they are not allowed to act as a bank by holding on to your funds for long periods of time. Due to this, the following deadlines are in place:
|Once the first donation is made, if you have not:||Incoming donations will be paused after:||Donations will be refunded after:|
|Verified your email||14 Days||30 Days|
|Entered and verified withdrawal information||30 Days||90 Days|
|Provided any required verification documents||N/A||60 Days|
- Be sure to check your spam/junk folders for the verification email!
- If additional verification is required, you or your beneficiary can confirm what’s needed either through an email sent from our team sent, or by clicking through the withdrawal prompts within the GoFundMe account of the person withdrawing.
- If you create a new account and fundraiser raising funds in Canadian dollars on or after May 29, 2020, you will still want to observe the above deadlines, but please note the following as well. If our payment partner needs additional information or documentation to verify withdrawals, you or your beneficiary will have 90 days from the last withdrawal sent to verify the account. Otherwise, any remaining donations will be refunded.
From start to finish, setting up, verifying, and receiving your withdrawals can take, on average, 10 business days. You can set up to receive funds via bank transfer, and once your account is verified, funds will be sent automatically and arrive in 2-5 business days. Withdrawals will not stop donations, your page will still show the total amount donated, and new donations will continue to be accepted.
